H&T Pawnbrokers has analysed Google search volumes to reveal the engagement ring styles trending this year as wedding restrictions begin to ease.
Despite the impact of lockdowns on weddings, searches for engagement rings have actually been up 50%, H&T revealed.
Its research shows hidden halo rings have seen the biggest growth in popularity (150%), with H&T writing about the style: “Hidden halo rings also known as ‘under halo setting’ rings features a halo of diamonds that sits at the base of the ring and is a unique take on a classic halo set ring.

“Hidden halo’s work well as a base for any diamond shape, from oval cut to pear and can make the centre stone look up to 15% larger as it acts as a platform for the larger stone.”
Next came emerald-cut engagement rings, coming in at second place (110%) in the list.
Elsewhere, gold bands saw 90% growth in searches while the term ‘matching engagement rings’ was up 70% on Google.
Search terms ‘cluster engagement rings’, ‘engagement watches’, ‘men’s engagement rings’, and ‘oval engagement rings’ also featured, rounding out the top eight.
