The Show Goes On in Las Vegas

The 2020 JCK Las Vegas and Luxury shows will take place as scheduled, the show organizers confirmed, though they will be monitoring the situation. Last week, precautionary considerations due to the outbreak of the coronavirus led to the cancellation of two European fairs, Baselworld and Watches & Wonder Geneva (formerly SIHH). Early in February, it was announced that the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show scheduled for March 2-6 and the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show (March 4-8) have been postponed until May 18-21, 2020 . JCK Las Vegas, the largest jewelry trade show in the United States, will kick off on June 2 and run through June 5. The Luxury starts on May 31 and runs through June 5. Both are happening at the Sands Expo & Convention Center and Venetian Hotel.

The organizers, Reed Exhibitions and Reed Jewelry Group, issued to the following statement “At this time of global concern [the organizers] are closely monitoring developments related to the COVID-19 virus,” said Sarin BachmanReed Jewelry Group’s vice president for the shows. “Our hearts go out to everyone impacted. The jewelry industry is a tight-knit community, and the well-being of everyone at our JCK events — from our attendees and exhibitors to our staff on-site at every show — is of the utmost importance to us. JCK Las Vegas and Luxury are following the latest guidance from local, state, and national authorities as it relates to travel and participation in our events with the intention of keeping our exhibitors and attendees informed as they finalize plans for 2020. We are committed to implementing up-to-date best practices in accordance with public health guidance, including those issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

They concluded the statement saying, “We will keep you up to date as we get closer to the show, and you can monitor our website for up-to-date information. The safety of our exhibitors, attendees, and staff is our number one priority.”
